Ladies,

Thought it might be good to initiate some kind of "Legends of Sabre Field" fantasy football league.

I was thinking of setting up a keeper league of some kind (format to be determined) that could be played year on year till we are even older men, with some kind of awesome prize to be won and cherished.

There will be a limit of 12 participants with preference being shown for -

No of games actually played on Sabre Field
General awesomeness on said field
Membership of the All Sabres Dream Team
Non-Membership of the GCS or the JSQAS
The fact that probably only 10 people will be interested (if that)

Let me know if you want to play and i'll sort it out
PS it isn't too early to start - Fabiano is full steam ahead on NFL.com and I'm getting bored

I'll be in for some legends football.

Unless some more worthy people steal my place, which is fair enough.

Kirk that would be appearances at actual Sabre field not Niagra or any of the flat pitches that Sheffield has to offer - but so far you are streets ahead of the rest of the competition by not being a card carrying Dolphins Fan

How can you be 3rd/4th?

You've only been here 3 years.

Paul, Lakin, Gav, Will, Roxley must all have played more. An there must be others that have played for 4 years?

I'd be up for it if approved.

Not sure Gav has played as many, think he played 2 years (not to say he shouldn't be in, he is still a Legend of Sabre Field). Paul should have a fair few and then i'd guess Rob would be next as he has just finished 5 years i think. I played 4 years but i'd guess i missed at least one game each season through injury.

Pretty sure Iain's played 4 years as well.

well i did say 3rd/4th

assume paul is at top, then lakin i dunno how many games will and roxley have played. but Reg season(24), Playoffs(3) and Varsities(2) i have played 29 with 26 starts. not many players will have had that many. most rookies from my first year missed at least a couple games. never missed a friendly either.

id like to apply jake..i only have the same criteria as elkliot, kirk, geen etc..

but being all time leading wide reciever and second overall rushing/recieving touchdown scorer...id like to think this would be taken into consideration..

Yes, it's true. I only played 2 seasons (plus an extra Varsity).

I'd have a stab at this fantasy league carry on though - even if my at best sparse NFL knowledge destines me to be whipping boy.

That is unless I am approved Gav, as I literally couldn't know less about the NFL.

Only 2 years for me but national representative lineman blatently helps my cause?

Gav doesn't need to meet any of the criteria above his awesome lounge lizardry puts him up there with the best...

Thats 9 people already - 5 of whom are on pretty safe footing

ironically I find Niagara to be a fairly slopey field....

And I've never played for the Sabres...

And I'm a Fin...

I have a feeling I wouldn't be top of the list......

I think being a Fin actually counts for you.

Could be worse. At least we've won something. Sucks to be a Buffalo fan really... You've never won fuck all.

Elliot, you obviously don't want to be in this league! Don't think that comment helps your chances!

Sounds like a good idea. I would list my Sabre credentials but as I've been around forever it might take too long. Surely one factor on my side is that I'm old enough to have played with Jake (back in the days of ironman sabre football).
