Obviously, at the time of writing this, the start of the 08/09 University year is still 3 months away but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything you can be doing.

First of all, it would be a good idea if you haven’t already done so to check out our website www.sheffieldsabres.com. You can also find us on facebook by searching ‘University of Sheffield Sabres’.

The next step is to come along to the University Sports Fair held in the Octagon Centre on the main campus on Friday 26th September. The club will have a stall at which you can chat to members of the team about the club and also sign up with your contact details.

On the Sunday following the Sports Fair, the 28th Sept (the last weekend of Freshers Week), the Sabres will be holding their annual Rookie Camp. This is a vital day for anyone who wants to be involved with the club and will give you a taster of American Football via watching and taking part in training activities. Shorts, t-shirt, football boots and plenty of water are a must for this event.

Full training will commence the Tuesday after the Rookie Camp.

There is no need for you to physically contact the club before the start of the season but if you have any questions or you just want to make yourself known please feel free to post in the Public Forum at www.sabres.freeforums.org (you will not be given access to the Players Area until the start of the season). Or you can send an e-mail to coach.will@sheffieldsabres.com with any specific questions related to training or playing, or anything else for that matter.

The Sabres Coaching Staff and Committee hope to see you in September!
